Faith Formation

Teachers are trained and certified to lead Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Students will visit the Atrium once or twice a week and absolutely love the peaceful prayer time where they learn parables such as the Precious Pearl and Good Shepherd, learn aspects of our Catholic faith such as how to prepare the altar and the Eucharist, and learn about the bible such as the geography, the Annunciation, Visitation, Last Supper and much more. Students memorize scripture and learn about prayer. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, designed by Maria Montessori, and further developed in the 1950′s by Sophia Cavaletti and Gianna Gobi, helps the young child come to know God in a developmentally appropriate way. Every aspect and lesson is developed with the young child in mind and is tried and true.

Creative Curriculum

Preschool classes use the Creative Curriculum which utilizes developmentally appropriate and individualized lessons integrated into longer in-depth studies. Children are naturally inquisitive which is celebrated and encouraged in the Creative Curriculum series. Learning is integrated instead of isolated lessons which ties well into Classical Education. You will see students studying nature, their community and other topics that help the child learn the world around them. Teachers use the Gold assessment and continuum to know exactly where a child is at and where to take them to the next level of learning.
