Small Groups

As God is a community of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we too, are made for community...

...that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.

Romans 1:11-12

Ongoing Small Faith Sharing Groups have begun at Pax Christi! Click on the accordion tabs below to learn more, or click here for the registration form. Contact Mary Muldoon with questions, or to register.

  • In small groups we grow in fellowship and relationship with God and one another in ways we cannot grow on our own. Small groups provide the opportunity to mutually encourage one another in faith, (Romans 1:11-12), bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and build community and unity in the Church (1 Thessalonians 2:8).

  • Each small group consists of 6-10 members with a leader (possibly a co-leader).

Leaders/co-leaders will choose the meeting time each week that works best for them, then members will be assigned to the group that fits best with their schedule. Or, maybe you already have a group in mind with a leader in place.

Group members do not need to be Pax Christi parishioners or even Catholic.

The group may choose to meet in one person’s home or rotate the meeting to different members’ homes each week. Maybe you want to incorporate food/drink - it’s up to the group.

A list of faith studies will be provided by Pax Christi. The group can decide together where the Holy Spirit is leading.

  • Christ is the true leader of each Small Group. He is the one around whom our groups are gathered. Leaders do not need to be experts on any given topic; they are not expected to teach, rather, they facilitate studies that include the format to follow, discussion questions, and all the materials necessary. Small Group leaders are committed to creating environments that promote growing in faith and discipleship. Small Group leadership is a ministry, approached with a servant’s heart.

An initial brief training will be provided for all leaders/co-leaders and ongoing support is always available.

  • We hope to get groups up and running as soon as the end of April, but this will depend on how many leaders are called to serve and how groups are assigned according to availability. Small groups will be ongoing and meet for as long as the group would like, moving from study to study as the Spirit moves.

Small groups can begin at any time as long as there are leaders to facilitate and members to join.

Leaders will be contacted for training times; group members will be informed as groups begin to form.
