Baptism
Baptisms are celebrated once a month, rotating through each of our four weekend Masses.
"Holy baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and in the word."

- Children who are newly born through the age of six are eligible for Infant Baptism
- Parent(s) must be parishioners of Pax Christi and attend weekly Mass
- Parents and Godparents must participate in a Baptism preparation class (if it has been more than two years since last completing a class)
To be admitted to the role of godparent, a person must:
- Be at least sixteen years old and not the father or mother of the infant being baptized
- Be a fully initiated Catholic who leads a life of faith in keeping with the role they are taking on
- Not bound by any canonical penalty legitimately imposed or declared
- A provided godparent form is required to be filled out by the godparent and signed by the priest of the parish where the godparent is a registered and active member
- Complete a Baptism Preparation Class (if it has been more than two years since last completing a class)
Baptism Preparation Classes for parents and/or godparents are offered once each month. Please contact Rachel Daugherty to register at least 72 hours in advance.
Canon Law requires that children ages seven and older be fully initiated into the Roman Catholic Church, preparing for and celebrating the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at the same time through the process known as the Rite of Initiation of Adults Adapted for Children or Teens (RCIC or RCIT).
