Catholic Schools Week
Sun, Jan 30th All Day
Pax Christi Catholic Church 10675 Jaguar Dr Lone Tree, CO 80124

Our parish communities have a mandate from the Gospel to preach the good news. That is exactly what a good Catholic school does. It is a ministry of our parish: to educate well-rounded individuals in Gospel values, preparing those young people to take their eventual place in the larger secular community. All the educational efforts of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic School are focused on the life of faith—incorporating truth, beauty and goodness as a Classical school. That faith is formed in knowledge of the teachings of the Church and of the Gospel, and those qualities are demonstrated through a life of service to the community. A Catholic school is a community of faith, knowledge, and service, as a ministry of the parish community; and Catholic Schools Week provides a wonderful opportunity for us to make sure our parish school is living its mandate from the Church. SUNDAY: Celebrating with our parish This weekend we will be participating in the weekend Masses as hospitality ministers. We will also be passing out small gifts to our parish and serving donuts! Please come see the school after any of the Masses. MONDAY: Celebrate our Community Beginning Monday, students will collect used shoes, any size or kind, for our service project with soles4souls. We will collect shoes all week as we live our motto Serve Dei et Bonum. TUESDAY: Celebrate our Students Teachers will present their students with Virtue Awards. These are very special and thoughtfully prepared. WEDNESDAY: Celebrate our Nation Students will make cards of appreciation for the veterans of our parish. THURSDAY: Celebrate Vocations Students will assemble gifts for Father Andrzej and Lottie Frank, our After-School teacher who is discerning a vocation as a Carmelite sister. FRIDAY: Celebrate our Staff and Volunteers Friday will begin with Mass at 9:00, followed by adoration and chaplet of the divine mercy. We will also watch a video by Bishop Golka and our Superintendent, Sheila Whalen. We will be praying for all of you every day! Please pray for us, too.
