Alpha at Pax Christi

MONDAYS | 6-8 PM
January 8, 2024 - March 18, 2024

We are very excited to once again offer Alpha at Pax Christi. This parish-wide initiative will help us develop a missionary culture for our parish and help spread our Catholic faith. Last Year approximately 30,000 churches and organizations ran Alpha with over 1.3 million participants, and we are thrilled to be able to bring it to Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree and Castle Pines.

What is Alpha?

Alpha is an 11-week course that creates a space where people are excited to bring their friends for a conversation about some of life’s biggest questions, and Jesus.

What does an Alpha Session look like?

Every Alpha meeting has three things: connecting over food, watching a short video presentation, and small group discussions.

Connect

All sessions start with a time to connect, relax and build friendships. Eating food together creates space for people to connect and share life on a deeper level.

Watch

The Alpha talks are designed to engage people from all walks of life and inspire conversation. They explore the big issues of life and faith and unpack the basics of Christian belief, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”

Discuss

The discussion time is an opportunity for people to respond to the talk, hear from others and contribute their own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.

FAQs

We always get lots of questions about what Alpha is, exactly. Hopefully the Tabs below will help clarify, but if not, feel free to reach out to Rachel Daugherty at 720-419-0129.

Alpha is an 11-week course of food, video talks, and conversations. It’s a chance to grow deeper in relationship with friends and family while also introducing them to Jesus.

Join Our Team!

Being part of an Alpha team can be a rewarding and fun experience. People with common interests get together, make new friends, develop their skills and learn how to work together. A strong team will also provide a more positive experience for our Alpha guests. Check out the following list; pray, and listen for the Holy Spirit’s prompt...will you be part of our team?

Here’s what we’re looking for.

Please think about how you can be involved! No previous Alpha experience is required to join our team.

FOOD – Do you love cooking and hospitality? We would love your help to plan, prepare and serve meals/snacks.

SET UP AND TEARDOWN – Are you available to come a bit earlier for set up and stick around to do clean up afterwards?

PRAYER TEAM – One of the most important roles on our team is people who will pray. Would you be willing to lead a group to pray behind the scenes for all aspects of our Alpha program? HOSTS AND HELPERS – The Small Group Host keeps the conversation rolling and makes sure that guests feel safe to share openly. This role requires someone who is a good listener, encourager, and who is sensitive to the needs of others. Helpers provide support to Hosts by praying silently, and affirming and encouraging guests throughout the weeks.
