Our Children’s Faith Formation ministry serves baptized children from grades K-5 with in-person classes and activities for Children's Liturgy, Religious Education
and Sacramental Preparation. We bring kids together for grade-level classes twice
a month (August through April) so they get to know each other in
small communities.
Our guiding charism is to help kids build friendships with their peers and mentor-mentee relationships with their catechists, as we all work together to create opportunities for spiritual encounter.
We have two year-long, parallel classroom programs: Religious Education (RE) and Sacramental Prep. (SP). We also offer a monthly activity, Children's Liturgy (CL), during the 10:30 AM Mass on the first full weekend of the month. Each June, Pax Christi also hosts a vibrant, week-long VBS! Children's Faith Formation Registration for 2026-2027
Our Sacramental Preparation classes bring together all students in second through fifth grade who have not yet made their First Reconciliation or received First Communion. In the Diocese of Colorado Springs, children prepare for these two sacraments in second grade. For many reasons, though, some older children may also need them, and we offer separate SP classes for second-graders and older, intermediate-level students (third-fifth graders).
Our Religious Education classes lead students in Kindergarten, first grade, and third-through-fifth grades through key tenets of the faith and church history, as well as prayers and spiritual practices, all while having fun with kids their own age!
Our Children's Liturgy sessions take young kids to the chapel during one Mass a month, to help them experience the Gospel and other readings in a meaningful, creative, and active way.
Our summer VBS program invites kids from throughout our community to join us for a week of faith, fellowship, and fun each June.
