  • Jennifer Tucker, Director

Jennifer Tucker comes to us with nearly 10 years of teaching and leadership experience in preschools, including the past six years as Director of the PEPC Early Learning Center (Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church), a preschool with approximately 250 students. Jennifer holds a Colorado Shines Level 6 Certification in working with children from birth through age 8. She and her husband have two daughters and are members of Ave Maria Catholic Church. • Heather Allen, Assistant Director

Heather is thrilled to be a part of the Pax Christi Preschool team! She was born and raised in Northern California, where she graduated with a degree in Child Development from San Jose State University. She has been teaching in the Pre-K setting since 2010. She and her husband, along with their two beautiful daughters, live in Castle Pines and are members of Pax Christi. Both of her daughters were baptized at Pax Christi, and she was blessed to be baptized here as well in 2014. Her family enjoys skiing in Winter Park, hiking, playing games, and watching movies together. They are also faithfully loved by our dog, Tucker. Her goal is to help our children grow emotionally, socially, and academically, and she knows that you are the primary educator in the development of your child, where she is grateful to be a part of his/her growth. She thanks you for sharing the challenges and joys of that process with me. It is a privilege.

  • Sheila Rumsey, Assistant Teacher

Sheila joined the staff of our preschool in 2019 as an Assistant Teacher. While the majority of her career has been in hospitality and retail management, when her three daughters were young, she became closely involved with their schools. She taught Vacation Bible School, Junior Achievement, and was a volunteer elementary school librarian. Previously, she was a teacher's aide for the religious education program at Pax Christi. She also served as her daughters' Girl Scout Troop Leader for 16 years, ages kindergarten through high school. Sheila strongly believes in providing a supportive, caring environment to instill the love of learning and reading in children. She and her family have been long time parishioners of Pax Christi and she enjoys giving back to the community.

  • Erin Hahn, Preschool Teacher

A graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Erin started her career in the financial industry. After working in finance for 15 years, she worked at Catholic Charities as a case manager, volunteer coordinator and office administrator.

Before joining the Pax Christi Catholic Preschool staff, Erin worked in an Elementary School environment with an emphasis in working with children with severe and special needs for five years. Her passion is working with children in a faith-based environment, and she is thrilled to be a part of the Pax Christi Catholic Preschool team.

In her free time, Erin enjoys bird watching, traveling and watching Nebraska football. Go Big Red! She has lived in Colorado for 23 years and has raised her 4 children here.

  • Candace Bookmyer, Teacher

Candace is very excited to be teaching preschool this school year at Pax Christi! She was born and raised in beautiful San Diego, CA and started her undergrad to be an elementary school teacher right out of high-school. After switching her major to work in the medical field, she worked at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for women and newborns for about 4 years in the NICU, then Sharp Memorial Hospital in the OR and Short Stay OBS. Candace worked in the medical field for 11 years until she moved to Parker with her husband and two daughters in October 2017. She became a stay-at-home mom for a few years before returning to work as a preschool teacher in January of 2020.

Candace is looking forward to getting to know all the new faces here at Pax Christi and teaching your children this year! Please welcome Candace to our community!

  • Kayla Mindock, TK/Kindergarten Teacher

Kayla is excited to join the Pax Christi Preschool team this year as the TK/Kindergarten teacher. A Colorado native, she and her husband are proud parents of two children, and their son attended Pax Christi Preschool in 2023–2024, deepening their involvement in the parish community. Kayla holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and an elementary teaching license from Metro State University, and she brings experience from childcare, substitute teaching—including at Pax Christi—and her previous role as a kindergarten teacher at St. Mary’s in Littleton. After stepping away in 2015 to focus on raising and teaching her own children, she is grateful to return to the classroom. Rooted in her Catholic faith, Kayla loves supporting children’s academic and spiritual growth, and in her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, crafting, and spending time with her family. She looks forward to being part of the Pax Christi Preschool community once again.

  • Melissa Hamann, Assistant Teacher

Melissa serves as an assistant teacher at the preschool and is a proud member of the Pax Christi community. Her family’s connection to the school began in 2021 when her eldest son enrolled, and her youngest is now a Pre‑K student. Originally from Miami, Florida, Melissa attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later worked as a middle school social studies teacher before moving to Colorado in 2018. She feels blessed to support children’s growth in a nurturing, faith‑centered environment. Outside the classroom, she enjoys reading, gardening, and baking.

  • Riwana Sniezyk, Assistant Teacher

Riwana joined the Pax Christi Preschool team in 2025 as an Assistant Teacher. Born and raised in Poland, she earned an engineering degree from the Maritime Academy of Szczecin before moving to the United States in 1999. After several years in retail, she discovered her passion for education and later worked as an Assistant Teacher at St. Mary’s Child Development Center in Pennsylvania. She and her husband moved to Colorado in 2005, where they raised their two daughters. Riwana has been active in her children’s schools and has also volunteered with Catholic Charities. She is dedicated to creating a nurturing, engaging learning environment and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, and reading.

  • Karen Aguillard

Karen Aguillard is grateful to serve alongside the Pax Christi Preschool team as the catechist for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Born and raised in Bellevue, Washington, she earned her civil engineering degree from Gonzaga University and now works part‑time as a geotechnical engineer and project manager. While she enjoys her engineering career, Karen has always felt a deep love for sharing the faith with children.

She has volunteered as a catechist for many years, joyfully stepping into the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program when it was introduced at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in 2021.  She completed her Level I formation, continues to teach on Sundays, completed Level II in 2025, and looks forward to beginning Level III next summer. Karen met her husband through the young adults group at St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue, and together with their three boys, they are grateful to be active members of the Pax Christi community and to grow in faith alongside other families.
