Bible Study Bible study returns to Pax Christi in September. There are two opportunities to attend. One group meets twice a month in Room 2 on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 beginning September 22nd and will be studying the Gospel of Matthew. A second group meets every Thursday morning in our Great Hall from 9:30 – 11:00 beginning September 23rd. This group has day care available if there is a need. We will finish the Gospel of Matthew we started last year and then will start at the beginning with Genesis. To come to an understanding of the New Testament, it is important to understand the Old Testament. There is no homework for either group. If you can’t make every session; come as often as you can. Pax Christi Women’s Retreat: October 15-17, 2010 Come eat, pray and share the love of your Pax Christi sisters. Cost: $170. Registration forms available at the Ministry Fair. ************
Starting in October, Pax Christi will be a distribution site for the non-profit, non-denominational food cooperative, AngelFood Ministries. In the midst of rising prices on what seems like everything, AngelFood makes it possible for people to lower their grocery bills tremendously. $30 can feed a family of 4 for a week with brand name food that would retail for about $60. For special diets the program offers an Allergen-Free food box and meals developed for seniors and diabetics. The After-School box is excellent for providing nutritious snacks affordably. In the meantime, we are looking for volunteers who want to help make the program a success. We’ll need people to take orders after masses once a month and to help with distribution one Saturday morning a month. Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge All boys and girls ages 10-14 are invited to participate in the Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge to be held on Saturday, September 11th during Beer and Brats after the 5:00pm Mass. The KC Soccer Challenge is sponsored annually with winners progressing through local, district and state competitions. All boys and girls 10 to 14 years old are eligible and will compete in the respective age divisions. Participants must furnish proof of age and written parental consent. Entry forms will be available at the event.
